Cats Eye (Lehsunia) is a chatoyant stone — most often chrysoberyl — named for the bright band of light that glides across its surface like a slit pupil, an effect created by fine parallel fibres within the crystal. It is found in Sri Lanka, India and Brazil, in honey, grey-green and golden-brown tones. In Vedic tradition it is Lehsunia, the gemstone of Ketu and one of the nine Navaratna stones.
