About Devadaru (Himalayan Cedar)
Devadaru (Cedrus deodara) is the Himalayan cedar. Its name comes from the Sanskrit 'deva-daru' — wood of the gods. In Hindu tradition the Devadaru forest is linked with Lord Shiva, and the wood has long been used in temples and for prayer beads. Each bead is cut from the wood and polished by hand, so every mala has its own colour and grain.
How to Use Your Devadaru Mala
To wear: Wear it around your neck, close to your heart, every day.

For japa: Move bead to bead with your thumb, one mantra per bead. 54 beads make half a round; two rounds make 108.

Set your intention: Hold it in both hands and take three slow breaths before you begin.
Caring for Your Devadaru Mala
Keep it dry — take it off before bathing or swimming.

Keep perfume, oils and chemicals away from the gold-plated caps.

Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth and store it in its pouch.

Recharge: Keep it on a selenite plate or under moonlight overnight, once a month.

Natural variation: every crystal is unique. Small differences in colour, lines, inclusions and bead size are signs of a natural stone, not defects.

Good questions

Questions about this piece

Is this real Devadaru wood?

Yes. The beads are natural Devadaru (Himalayan cedar) wood and the mala comes with a certificate of authenticity. Natural wood shows small differences in colour and grain.

Can men and women both wear it?

Yes. It is free size and sits at mid-chest on most people, so it suits both men and women.

How long is the mala?

About 20 inches around (about a 10 inch drop), with 54 beads of 7 mm and a gold hook clasp.

Can I use it for japa?

Yes. 54 beads make half a round, so two rounds make the traditional 108. Many people also simply wear it every day.

Will the gold colour fade?

The caps and links are gold plated. Keep it away from water, perfume and sweat-heavy workouts and the shine stays longer.

How do I care for it?

Keep it dry and away from perfume and chemicals. Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth and store it in its pouch.

How long will delivery take? Is COD available?

Your order is dispatched within 1–3 business days, then delivered in 3–7 business days across India. Shipping is free on prepaid orders, and Cash on Delivery is available.

What if my order arrives damaged or incorrect?

Share an unboxing video within 48 hours of delivery and we'll replace it free.
