Serpentine Ganesh Ji Murti – Renewal & Awakening Idol (480g)

This murti brings together Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles, and Serpentine — named for the way the stone sheds and renews, like a snake leaving its skin. Serpentine is worked with at the Heart and Root, and is associated in yogic practice with awakening dormant kundalini energy. Placed at the centre of an altar, it clears the way before a fresh start and supports the transition out of what has ended.

Serpentine is a group of magnesium silicate minerals formed when olivine-rich rock is altered by water deep in the earth. Its name comes from its mottled, snakeskin-like surface. It ranges from pale ivory and soft yellow-green through to deep olive, and the paler translucent variety is often sold as New Jade. Softer than quartz, it takes a warm, waxy polish that suits large carved pieces. This Ganesh Ji murti is hand-carved from natural Serpentine and finished in our Jaipur workshop.

Place the murti at the centre of your home temple or puja room, facing into the home.
Name what you are leaving behind and what you are beginning as you place it.
Offer a diya, incense or flowers during your regular puja.
Give it space — at 480g this is a centrepiece, not a shelf accent.

Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth. Serpentine is a softer stone than quartz, so avoid abrasive cloths, harsh cleaners and prolonged soaking in water. Lift with both hands and set it on a stable, level surface.
