Its deep black and grey bands form as silica-rich fluids layer within volcanic rock over immense spans of time. Agate is found across India, Brazil and the Middle East, valued for its dense, steadying character.

Use it for japa meditation or wear it as a 108-bead mala.

For japa: Hold the mala in your right hand and move from bead to bead with your thumb, repeating your mantra once per bead. One full circuit of the 108 beads is a complete round. At the larger guru (sumeru) bead, pause and turn the mala around rather than crossing it.
